Nedu 1.3 Released
The heading says a good part of it really. Last night Nedu 1.3 was released to the world. 1.3 contains a good number of bug fixes, speed improvements and some very cool new features such as Identity aliasing. But better than that…..
The 1.3 release is the beginning of an expansion into securing SaaS applications. SaaS is a growing trend and promises to revolutionise the way IT is delivered. To most of the people reading this blog, I am preaching to the converted. Nedu is a SaaS application. By using Nedu, you get two factor authentication as a service. That means, no hardware, no software (unless you choose to use our handy client software) and no licensing. However, it does mean that you need to interface your traditional systems with Nedu. And that means you can’t start using Nedu in anger until you’ve done a bit of work.
With 1.3 you can use Nedu to secure your Salesforce and Google Apps investment with absolutely no work. It is all done for you. There is some configuration required, but no coding and no adaptors.
Quite seriously, you can add two factor authentication to Google Apps in 3 minutes. And do your first authentication within 4. And if you already have SSO enabled in Salesforce, same deal. (If not, you’ll need to ask Salesforce to enable it for you. It’s free, but you need to wait for them to turn it on).
Go here to read more about how we are supporting SaaS. Or here if you want to read about our Google Apps integration and here to read about our Salesforce integration.
We’re looking for candidate SaaS applications for the next round of integration, so if you have a suggestion, leave a comment, or email our support staff. It’s all very exciting stuff. Have a play and let us know what you think.
